Nekropole in der Tiefsee: –Forscher entdecken riesigen Walfriedhof im Indischen Ozean
Im Indischen Ozean haben Forscher den größten, tiefsten und ältesten Walfriedhof entdeckt. Die Reste in 7000 Metern sind teils Millionen Jahre alt.

Die Forscher gehen davon aus, dass es weltweit noch viele andere solche Walfriedhöfe gibt. Allein die Fläche des Grabens schätzt es auf 14.400 Quadratkilometer. Hochgerechnet könnten in der Bruchzone mehr als zehn Millionen Walreste liegen.
