Eigentlich war er Jazz-Musiker, berühmt wurde Manfred Mann aber mit schmissigen Pop- und Rocksongs wie „Do Wah Diddy Diddy“ und „Ha! Ha! Said the Clown“. Den Erfolg habe er dem Talent anderer zu verdanken, sagt der Keyboarder, der am 21. Oktober seinen 80. Geburtstag feiert.
